We wouldn’t trade our hearing for any value of money, it is truly priceless. Imagine, not being able to hear the voices of your loved ones or the beautiful recitation of the Quran. Hearing is something we could never imagine living without. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 278 million people are suffering from disabling hearing impairment and that 70% of these people live in low-income countries. For these people, treatment is difficult to afford and come by but for a small act of kindness, we can change that.
We have the ability to ensure that people living in impoverished communities, suffering from hearing impairments, have the opportunity to regain their hearing.
By restoring someone’s hearing, you’re giving a beautiful Sadaqah Jariyah. This continuous charity is not only an investment in your Akhirah but a priceless gift to someone in need, allowing them to walk independently through life.
Gift of Sound Donations FAQs
We have a strict identification process that’s followed after conducting a thorough needs assessment. We work closely with local organisations and authorities who help us identify potential cases. Those who require support then undergo MCO’s screening process and are eligible to receive support if they meet the requirements.
In the same way that we use your Sadaqah Jariyah to restore sight in Project Noor, our newly established Gift of Sound project aims to do the same but through sound. Those receiving support will be given hearing aids for treatable hearing loss. Not only does this restore dignity, hope and provides a sense of empowerment – this is a beautiful Sadaqah Jariyah.
Absolutely! Providing use of any of the senses whether it be through sight or in this case sound is a Sadaqah Jariyah – especially when used in the course of Allah, to better the lives of those in need.
MCO And Project Noor
Our Muslims Around The World team has been hard at work in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan restoring sights for vulnerable people living in impoverished communities for years.
We focus on setting up makeshift medical camps in remote communities that perform eye health checks, treatment and cataract surgeries.
To date, has MCO performed 6,157 cataract surgeries alone, restoring sight through the generosity and Sadaqah of our donors.
